Hans Meiser was born on August 20, 1946, in Bad Rothenfelde, Germany. After high school, he began studying history and art history at the University of Stuttgart but did not complete his studies.
Career
At the age of 15, Meiser started working for the youth program on SDR radio. In 1970, he began his career as a radio presenter at SWF’s Pop Shop. A year later, he moved to Radio Luxembourg as a news editor.
Hans Meiser played a key role at RTL plus, being the face of the station from 1984 to 1992. He served as the anchor for news programs like 7 vor 7 and RTL aktuell. Notably, during the Gladbeck hostage crisis, where three people were tragically killed, Meiser was the first journalist to contact the hostage-takers and conduct an interview while the crisis unfolded.
From 2013 to 2023, Hans Meiser hosted the three-hour program “Talk of Town – the Hans Meiser Show” every Sunday on Radio Regenbogen.
