Prasidh Krishna was born on February 19, 1996, in Bangalore, Karnataka, India. His dad, Murli Krishna, was a local cricketer, and his mom, Kalawati Krishna, played volleyball. He has a younger sister named Prakurthi. Surprisingly, Prasidh wasn’t initially into cricket; he liked volleyball and other sports. However, at 12, he joined the Basavanagudi Cricket Academy in Bengaluru, discovered his cricket skills, and later played for his school and the Karnataka under-19 team.
After completing his schooling at Carmel School in Padmanabhanagar, Prasidh Krishna pursued further education at Mahavir Jain College. There, he successfully graduated and obtained a Bachelor of Commerce (B.Com) degree.
Career
Prasidh Krishna began his cricket journey in 2015 during the Bangladesh A tour of India. He made an impressive first-class debut for Bangalore against Bangladesh A, grabbing five wickets in the first innings and one in the second. That same year, he entered List-A cricket in the Vijay Hazare Trophy, taking two wickets against Jharkhand.
In 2016, Prasidh joined the MRF Pace Foundation. His Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy debut for Bangalore came in January 2018 against Punjab, where he took the wicket of Manan Vohra but conceded 44 runs in four overs.
In 2019, Prasidh Krishna went to Australia through the MRF Pace Foundation’s exchange program, learning from former Australian fast bowler Jeff Thompson. He made his international debut on March 23, 2021, against England in an ODI, where he took four wickets, including Jason Roy, Ben Stokes, Sam Billings, and Tom Curran.
